Gerard Bertrand Orange Gold 2023

Languedoc, France $25

On the back label it states: ‘This wine with golden reflections is inspired by the sun and sea’. Perhaps, but what made me pick it up was the grapes: 40% Chardonnay, 30% Grenache Blanc, 15% Viognier, 10% Muscat and 5% Gewürztraminer. Whew! What a lineup of made-for-summer grapes! Intense aromas, tangerine, citrus and spice flavors make it great for salads, spicy dishes, and strong cheeses.

Clarendelle Bordeaux Blanc 2023

Bordeaux, France $27

A blend of 49% Sauvignon Blanc, 37% Semillon, and 14% Muscadelle, this wine was created in 2005 by Prince Robert of Luxembourg. He is the great-grandson of Clarence Dillon, an American financier who enjoyed first growth Chateau Haut Brion so much that he bought the vineyard in 1935! For many years, including 2026, Clarendelle has been the exclusive wine served at the Academy Awards Governors Ball.

Singing Gruner Veltliner 2023

Vienna, Austria $22

Laurenz V was founded in 2004 by Laurenz Moser and Dieter Hubler. They offer many wines, but those crafted from Austria’s legendary native grape, Gruner Veltliner, are the most popular. This example offers a floral nose and a palate of harmonious fruit with a hint of white pepper. The mouth-watering spicy finish is bright and refreshing. Other choices made from the same grape include Friendly and Charming, each with its own flavor profile.

Chateau Guiraud Sauternes 2009

Bordeaux, France $40 (375ml)

This delicious Sauternes is a perfect example of the rich, golden and subtly sweet wine from France. The aroma is noted for its apricot, honey and quince blend, leading to the palate of apricot, nectarine, almond and spice. The grapes are Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. A long and unctuous finish earns this special wine a 94 point rating from Wine Advocate. Try it with foie gras, blue cheeses, or desserts like apple tarts or crème brulee.

Stoller Pinot Noir Rosé 2024

Willamette Valley,  Oregon $16

The farm purchased in 1943 to raise turkeys changed in 1993 to growing grapes when Bill Stoller acquired it and created the winery. Now they have 225 acres growing ten different varietals,  95% of which is dedicated to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This rose is whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel, with ripe stone fruit and strawberry showing on the nose. Watermelon and key lime fill the palate with mouthwatering acidity, and the mineral notes linger to a juicy finish.
