In 2019 the Women’s Leadership Conference will celebrate its ninth year and will include two inspiring days filled with education, networking and professional and personal development for women from all walks of life. The event will kick off on Monday, February 4, with the Celebration of Inspiring Women. This evening honors remarkable individuals and celebrates their contributions. The awards recognize the incredible achievements of women with ties to South Carolina. This year’s honorees are Carrie Brown, Suncera Johnson and Britnie Turner.

The Women’s Leadership Conference itself will be held on Tuesday, February 5, and features a lineup of empowering speakers. The remarkable women on the roster include former WNBA Commissioner and PGA Tour Executive Donna Orender, author and entertainment industry veteran Suncera Johnson, CEO of Aerial Development Britnie Turner and many more. This favorite event is brought to the beach each year by Women in Philanthropy and Leadership (WIPL) for Coastal Carolina University. Formed in 2007 under CCU First Lady Terri DeCenzo, WIPL works to transform the lives of university students and make a difference in the community by leveraging the impact of women and their donations of talent, time and resources. The organization brings together women of different experiences who all share the ambitions of building a better university and community.
