Popular Event Takes Place October 10-11
Annual Little River event offers fresh seafood, crafts, and numerous vendors for milestone celebration on October 10-11.
The fall season is cause for celebration along the Grand Strand. Slightly cooler temperatures, sunny days without haze, and some much-beloved festivals.
October marks the 20th anniversary of the Little River ShrimpFest, a weekend heralded for its fresh seafood, crafts, and numerous vendors set along the scenic, mossy live oaks and the Intracoastal. The popular event takes place October 10-11.
"For 20 years, Little River ShrimpFest has brought the Grand Strand together on the waterfront for great food, live music, and a true small-town celebration,” says Jennifer Walters, president and CEO of the sponsoring agency, the Little River Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center.
“Built on the same formula that's made our Blue Crab Festival a Southern favorite, this year's event brings together more than 150 arts, craft, business, and community vendors, plus entertainment and a Kidz Zone for the whole family. We can't wait to celebrate our 20th year with the community that's supported us since the beginning."
Held on the waterfront, shrimp is of course the main offering, cooked in creative and traditional ways by the local restaurants. Seafood, in general, will not be lacking, but land lubbers will be just as pleased with the offerings.
Entertainment is provided by live bands, while stiltwalkers and balloon artists showcase their talents.
“The Little River ShrimpFest is still about what it's always been about: bringing people to Little River's historic waterfront for a great weekend,” she continues. “ It's a huge win for our local vendors, restaurants, and businesses, and a reminder of why this stretch of the Grand Strand is worth visiting every fall.
“It's a can't-miss stop for anyone planning a fall visit to the Grand Strand, and a great way to experience Little River at its best."
