Come out for a fun-filled day of fishing, food, education, and time with NMB heroes at Lake Shelter at the NMB Park and Sports Complex!

This City of North Myrtle Beach– sponsored event on May 3 is ideal for kids ages 6-13 (accompanied by a parent/guardian) and who must be registered. This is a ticketed event, as space is limited. Tickets are free but all children must be registered to participate.

Fishing equipment will be provided for use during the event. Lunch will be provided by the NMB Lions Club to include a hot dog, chips, and a drink for each child registered and their chaperone. Sea Coast Anglers Association members will help with everyone’s fishing needs and will be the expert judges for our fish competitions.

“This is a fun day of fishing with friends, where kids learn the art of angling alongside the North Myrtle Beach Fire and Police Departments, as well as local anglers,” notes Angel Sylvester, Special Events and Program Director for the city. “Our hope is they build friendships that help them feel safe and supported in their community… all while discovering the joy of fishing.”

Fish competitions will be for largest fish caught among several species categories. The aforementioned North Myrtle Beach Police and Fire Departments will fish with participants and hand out freebies for the young participants!
