We are Carolina Trust—your community’s credit union®: the primary credit union of The Grand Strand. We began in 1958 as the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base Credit Union, and we are proud to honor our roots and those who got us to where we are today. In 2001, we became a community-chartered credit union. Today, we proudly serve Horry, Georgetown, Marion, Williamsburg, southern Florence County, and Brunswick County, N.C.; our membership is open to the community. This year, we are celebrating our 65th anniversary and our fifth year serving the area of Brunswick County, N.C. This milestone anniversary is a time of reflection and growth for us. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we aim to remain competitive with low rates, lower or nonexistent fees, and our personal touch on service. What other place that you know of does your mortgage lender go to the closing with you? The passion and commitment of our team are apparent in the ways we show up for our communities. We have proudly supported the Myrtle Beach Bowl since its inaugural year.  We are a proud sponsor of Coastal Carolina University and the title sponsor of WBTW’s High School Blitz. Also, we catch up with the community on our talk show-style segment on WBTW News 13 Financial Friday® Living Local Carolina with our Brand Ambassador August. Accolades and awards include being recognized by American Banker (Credit Union Journal) as a “Best Credit Union to Work For” since 2019, ranking 18th nationally in 2022. Additionally, Carolina Trust is a fi ve-year winner of “South Carolina’s Best Places to Work.” Our employees represent Carolina Trust best in our communities, and supporting their personal and professional growth has a measurable impact on our performance. In order to attract and retain the best talent, we offer highly competitive benefi ts and 401(k). Also, beginning this year, the president/CEO implemented an extra day off for employees for volunteering and “giving back.”
