In 2008, Sydney came armed with baked goods on the first day of her new job at Breaking Limits. Her co-worker Brookes was immediately smitten. After a year and eight months together, Brookes proposed while cruising on a boat back home after a dinner date. The wedding took place at Greenfield Plantation in Georgetown. They live just outside downtown Charlotte.
