The couple met while attending Coastal Carolina University and dated for about six years before getting engaged. Jonathan took Shayda to her favorite spot on the south end of Pawleys Island one Monday afternoon in the fall, when the weather and sunset were perfect. As they walked out to the southern point of the island on the beach, Jonathan asked for her hand in marriage. The ceremony was an outdoor wedding held at the gates of Brookgreen Gardens, with a reception at the Holliday Cottage. The pair lives in Murrells Inlet.
