The pair met through the Leadership Grand Strand program while facilitating at Youth Leadership Academy. Tom approached Michelle and asked if she was the troublemaker of Class 30. After two years together, Tom proposed at midnight while having ice cream at Serendipity on a mini-vacation to New York City. The wedding took place at Pine Lakes Country Club, where Michelle’s daughter Mackenzie and Tom’s daughter Katie participated in the ceremony, signifying the union of their new family. Michelle walked down the aisle to “Here Comes the Sun,” and the pair walked out together to “Jump Right In” by the Zac Brown Band. Michelle and Tom live in Myrtle Beach.
