The couple met in 2011 while working together at Cagney’s Old Place. After five years of dating, Chris proposed during Hurricane Matthew. The pair was living in different cities at the time with Chris working in Myrtle Beach and Lindsay going to school in Rock Hill. Chris couldn’t decide if he should evacuate, but decided at the last minute to head to Rock Hill to escape the storm. They spent time listening to vinyl records and catching up on the week. Chris then put on The Drifter’s Greatest Hits album, a favorite they listened to often. After talking for a few more minutes, Chris stood up from the chair, got down on one knee and popped the question. The ceremony was held under the Evelyn Snider Oak Tree at First Baptist Church in Conway followed by a reception at 5th & Main. They wanted the day to be intimate, so they invited only family with the exception of two friends, the maid of honor and a close friend who performed the ceremony. The smaller wedding gave them more time to enjoy with family members, especially those who had traveled a long distance. The morning wedding was followed by a brunch reception featuring shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, a biscuit bar, key lime pie and more. A harpist performed music and the couple exited to “Just the Two of Us” by Bill Withers, one of their favorites. Chris designed the wedding programs, which had a newspaper layout design featuring a crossword puzzle specific to the bride, groom and family members. Since listening to vinyl is such a huge part of their relationship, albums were played during the reception, including music by Etta James, Frank Sinatra and Van Morrison. The couple exited on a tandem bike since they love riding bicycles together. Lindsay and Chris live in Myrtle Beach.
