Lauren and Derek were “ready for some football” when they met out one night with friends. Instead of watching Thursday night football as they had anticipated, they ended up talking for hours and were hooked. After dating for two years, Derek took Lauren for a hike up to Crowder’s Mountain in North Carolina early one Saturday morning. After they got to the peak (and caught their breath), Derek got down on one knee and proposed. Lauren said yes and the two celebrated with a bottle of champagne, excited about their journey ahead. They married in a private residence in St. Augustine, Florida. The home had a special connection to them since they had rented it for a vacation before so they started calling it their “St. Augustine House.” The natural scenery and wildlife of the home made it the perfect place for Lauren and Derek’s special day. The couple lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
