The pair went to rival high schools where they knew of each other (he played football and she was a cheerleader). Juliana was a year ahead in school and left for college at Marshall University. After playing football at Concord University, Jake left and joined the Navy and was in California for some time. When he came back to West Virginia, the two finally had a date after several failed attempts in the past due to timing. The rest is history, and the pair were engaged the following July. Jake proposed on July 4th in front of the crowd at a Maroon 5 concert. The ceremony was held at the Ocean Club at Grande Dunes. The couple lives in West Virginia. PHOTOGRAPH BY BROOKE CHRISTL
