Hannah Elizabeth Nuckles & David Michael Waldkirch Jr.

Hannah and Michael met during the summer before she started school at Clemson, where he was already a student. They met through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and ended up becoming friends once Hannah started school. After lots of studying and enjoying campus adventures together, Michael told Hannah he had a crush on her the night before a chemistry final, which she ended up failing. After two years of dating, Hannah helped Michael plan a surprise scavenger hunt for his sister’s birthday. She got confused when her own chauffeur whisked her away, only to discover the scavenger hunt was for her and went to special places around campus. The hunt ended on the rowing dykes overlooking the lake, where Hannah noticed a bar stool from her apartment with a dozen yellow roses. There was a note waiting explaining Michael’s granny had given him her engagement ring which had been in the family for more than a century. Michael then walked up from the rocks by the lake and proposed. The ceremony took place at Garden City Chapel and featured a casual theme with burlap and yellow throughout. The pair is currently living in Mount Pleasant.
