The couple met while playing on an adult kickball team. After a few weeks of flirting, Garrett asked Christina out on a date. They had a perfect time at Aspen Grill for restaurant week. After two years together, Christina begged Garrett to take a golf cart ride during the flood of 2015 to look at the damage around the neighborhood and beach. He was smoking two BBQ butts (which Christina didn’t question even though it was a lot of food), and when it was time for the meat to rest they put on their rain jackets and headed out. The skies cleared for an hour and Garrett took her down to the beach he grew up going to and proposed. They headed back to his house, where both of their families were waiting, including her sister who flew in for the surprise. The ceremony was held at First Presbyterian Church followed by a reception at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club. The wedding had many traditional aspects, which felt unique to the couple since you don’t see tradition much anymore. The pair lives in North Myrtle Beach.
