The couple met at work and dated for about six months before getting engaged. Champagne was completely surprised by the proposal. She sensed it would happen, but thought it would be in November when they headed to Cancun for her birthday. Little did she know that Patrick planned to do it at her house in front of her mom, who tried to capture the big moment on her phone but was so nervous she didn’t hit record. The ceremony took place in front of the Ocean Club at Grande Dunes with a reception in the Members Club. Rain started falling right after the first kiss of their beach wedding, which they took for a sign of good luck. The couple makes their home in Myrtle Beach.
