Carla and Derek met as students at Furman University and dated for three and a half years before getting engaged. During a Spring Break tip to Las Vegas, Derek proposed at a lookout spot in Utah’s Zion National Park. The ceremony was held at Atalaya at Huntington Beach State Park and had a vintage theme. Carla wore a lace dress and Derek wore a dark brown suit with brown Chuck Taylors. Guests wrote messages to the couple using antique typewriters. Carla and Derek live in Virginia Beach.
