The pair met their first year at Orange County Community College in New York, where they became fast friends and quickly more as their connection grew. Both vacationed in Myrtle Beach with their families growing up, so they applied to Coastal Carolina and were both accepted. Ashley and Nick were together for four years when he popped the question in Charleston, one of the couple’s favorite cities to visit. They took a private horse and carriage ride around the city and reminisced on their time together. After spending some time at the pineapple fountain, they walked to the end of the dock, where they saw a shooting star right before Nick got down on one knee to propose. The ceremony took place at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club and included special touches like an iron rod gazebo, harp music, an uncle as officiant and a live butterfly release in honor of loved ones who had passed. The Italian-style cocktail hour honored the couple’s heritage and their colors were ivory with navy and deep purple accents.
