The couple met on a blind date set up by mutual friends. After dating for three and a half years, Allison was in graduate school at MUSC in Charleston. The couple’s June birthdays are five days apart, so they always plan a weekend trip or special dinner rather than getting each other gifts. They planned to take a day trip to Edisto followed by a nice dinner in downtown Charleston. That Friday, on Allison’s actual birthday, they took a moonlit stroll down to the waterfront dock by her house. There, Brad surprised her with a diamond. The trip celebrated their engagement as well as their birthdays. Their wedding was held on the front lawn of the Kaminksi House Museum. The pair describe their style as effortless and straightforward, so they wanted their big day to be fresh and simple. Chairs were arranged under the live oaks. Twinkling lights amongst the trees provided a soft glow, with a variety of greenery, whites, ivories and golds completing the look. The registry table was an antique wood piece inherited from the groom’s grandmother. Allison and Brad live in Georgetown.
