Paddle Fest

Paddle Fest

This annual event starts with hundreds of paddlers heading down Black Mingo Creek in kayaks, canoes and even paddleboards. After navigating a two-mile route to the Tara Hall Home for Boys, the on-shore adventures include outdoor activities, live music, food, face painting and more. Proceeds benefit Tara Hall, which accepts neglected, troubled or abused boys and offers them a long-term residential home, where they come together as brothers and leave as changed young men. Tara Hall Home for Boys, 510 Tara Hall Road. Saturday, visit website for times. Paddlers, $25–$40; non-paddlers, $5–$10. (843) 546-3000, www.tarahall.org
